Hungarians expect Brussels to set aside political debates
In line with recent traditions, the Századvég organizes numerous conferences both in Hungary and abroad.
Participants include a number of cabinet members, heads of international research institutions, and high-profile members of the domestic and international economic community, both among the presenters and in the audience. The professional conferences organized by the Századvég focus on the most important issues researched and investigated by the institution in the field of economy, foreign and home policy, and culture.
The rule of law cannot be protected by means that violate the rule of law – said Judit Varga, Minister of Justice, at the online conference of Századvég Foundation on Tuesday, referring to the EU’s actions against Hungary.

In cooperation with the Israel Public Diplomacy Forum, Századvég also held a workshop on 15 November entitled “The increasing significance of the V4-Israel alliance”, including a panel discussion featuring IPD Forum Chairman Professor Eytan Gilboa and Zsolt Németh, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Hungarian National Assembly.
Following the publication of the 2017 results of our EU-wide public opinion research, Project 28, we organized a conference on 7th July, entitled “Where is Europe Heading?”, where the speakers gave their take on this question based on the results of our opinion poll.

As part of the conference series “A Europe of Values”, the international conference “National Values – European interests, Thatchers legacy: strong nation state, effective governance” was held at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences on 5 May 2016. The event was jointly organised by the Századvég Foundation, the Danube Institute and the Hungarian Review.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and the National University of Public Service, the Századvég Foundation organised an international conference entitled “Gaullism: the role of the state , law and national sovereignty in modern European democracies”.
